ThirdParent - Local New Jersey Company Offers Safe Internet Solutions for Parents of Teens

Founded in March 2013, the ThirdParent service recently emerged from a beta testing period, and is now fully functional and available to parents who have questions about their children’s internet use.

ThirdParent is the brainchild of three local internet professionals, Kevin Reifel, Gary Zell and Rob Zidar, who are also parents of teenagers.  The ThirdParent confidential audit and ongoing monitoring services offer tools and information to parents who are unsure as to what their kids are actually doing online, or are concerned about reputation management due to an upcoming life event such as college admission.

According to Rob Zidar; "We founded ThirdParent after identifying a very large disconnect between what kids are actually doing online, and what parents think they are doing. According to a recent Pew Internet report, 62% of parents report knowing what their kids are doing on the internet, while only 33% of teens confirm that this is true. The ThirdParent service gives parents a clean look at what a college admissions officer, future employer or online predator would see through an internet or social media search for their child or teen.”

The principals at ThirdParent believe that their service is unique in the marketplace, and is a better solution than software-based monitoring systems that can easily be gamed by tech-savvy teens.
