Defence IQ launches Future Mortar Systems 2013, focusing on preventing skill atrophy

LONDON - July 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Defence IQ has launched the full conference agenda for the 4th annual Future Mortar Systems conference, taking place from 21-23 October in London, which highlights key areas in the need for preventing skill atrophy and developing future capabilities.

With global Armed Forces looking to stay battle ready post-Afghanistan, the demand for simulation and training is set to increase as they prevent skill atrophy in the soldier. The expert international speaker panel includes participation from UK, US, Canada, Germany, France and Sweden who will all be outlining their plans for the next decade.

Key highlights on the Future Mortar Systems 2013 agenda include a presentation from Lieutenant Colonel Dominique Rudeaut, Artillery Technical Directorate, French Army who will adding to the debate by discussing the use of the 120 and 155 in Afghanistan and the more recent deployments in Mali and beyond.

Additionally, the Pre-Conference Workshop led by leading defence expert Jim Storr, will enable further discussion and debate about the role of the mortar, including: the breadth, and limits, of mortar utility, deployment options and the impact of Precision Guided Munitions.
