EFAM 2013 Scholarship Awarded to Chanell Douglas, Houston’s Executive Administrative Professional

The Foundation of IAAP invests $23,000 in future of administrative professionals
 
HOUSTON - July 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Chanell Douglas, an executive administrative professional who lives in Houston, Texas will get stellar career training and networking this year thanks to The Foundation of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).

The Foundation of IAAP recently awarded scholarships to Douglas and 39 other deserving administrative professionals so that they can attend EFAM 2013; on July 27-31 in Anaheim, California. The scholarships cover the cost of early bird registration and represent an investment of about $23,000 by The Foundation in the future of administrative professionals.

Douglas holds the position of Executive Administrative Assistant; to three company officers (COO, CTO, HSEO) for a prominent Oil and Gas Company in the Houston area. She is also the owner of ND Enterprises (http://www.ndenterprises.org/) an Executive Administrative Service business. Douglas has been a member of IAAP since November of 2012 and has recently been appointed the committee chairperson for Community Involvement and committee co-chairperson for the Greenspoint Chapter bulletin.

EFAM 2013 will be a unique opportunity for Chanell Douglas to reach the next level in her career as an executive administrative professional. Douglas will have access to more than 60 hours of education and one-of-a-kind networking with like-minded colleagues from around the world. There will also be representatives from some of the most important providers of products and services for administrative professionals. Douglas will return to work with skills and knowledge to advance in the workplace.

Thirty-nine of them are first-time EFAM attendees and one is temporarily unemployed. They are all career-minded administrative professionals. Though all 120 applicants certainly deserved this esteemed award; the 40 recipients were chosen based on criteria established to ensure the most effective use of The Foundation’s limited resources.

The Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 charitable organization based in Kansas City, Missouri; supports career education, research and training for office professionals, in addition to housing assistance for those age 55 or older. It established the EFAM scholarship program in 2012.
