NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. - July 21, 2013 - PRLog -- This November New Street Communications, LLC, will publish audio editions of two bestselling novels by multi-award winning author Eileen Charbonneau.

The novels, Waltzing in Ragtime (1996) and The Randolph Legacy (1997), were originally published by Macmillan/Forge, and today they remain in print with Macmillan as eBooks.

The Washington Post called Waltzing in Ragtime, which takes place on the West Coast at the start of the 20th century, "provocative ... a well-told, extremely entertaining tale." Of the same book, Publishers Weekly said: "Award-winning YA author Charbonneau successfully crosses over to adult fiction with this lively historical novel ... "

With regard to The Randolph Legacy, the critic for Publishers Weekly commented: "Charbonneau once again shows impressive command of the elements of historical romance in a tale of suffering, revenge [and] redemption ... set in post-Revolutionary America. ... Charbonneau avoids the saccharine with the help of a lively plot, narrative tension and convincing characterization."

"We are delighted to have Eileen's masterful work to add to our growing roster of audio titles," notes New Street Managing Director Edward Renehan. "With these and other recent acquisitions I feel that we are well on our way to developing a top-quality audio list."

Charbonneau's fiction for adults includes not only Waltzing in Ragtime and The Randolph Legacy but also Rachel LeMoyne, all published by Macmillan/Forge. Waltzing in Ragtime has gone back for multiple printings, and won a Heart of the West Award.

Charbonneau's YA novels include The Ghosts of Stony Clove, In the Time of the Wolves and Honor to the Hills, all published by Macmillan/Tor. Charbonneau's The Ghosts of Stony Clove won both the Golden Medallion Award for Best Young Adult Novel and the New York Public Library Best Book for Young Adults Award. She is also the author of New Street's popular Elements of the Novel.

Charbonneau has written for The New York Times and co-wrote the award-winning 1990 documentary film Endowment for the Planet, narrated by Christopher Reeve.
