July 20, 2013 - PRLog -- On July 21st 2011 Rocker Jimi Jamison best known for his years as the frontman of Target and Cobra then the pop group Survivor was recognized as a Solo Artist while on his Solo Tour in Boston MA.  A native of Memphis TN Jimi has an impressable career that has spanned over decades.

Jamison donated a black jacket with rhinestone studs that was worn in the 90's on a solo tour, as Hard Rock Cafe's switch out their memorabilia this item along with other items that were added for display purposes could end up in a Hard Rock Cafe near you really soon!

Having been in bands, and then breaking out on his own after several years to be recognized as an International Recording and Performing Artist is quite an honor, "to be known for your own work, voice, and for what you do that comes from your heart, is one of the greatest honors anyone can have." States Jamison "I actually was blown away at the request, and it was a cool experience as when I arrived at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston with no announcement people recognized me and it was a lot of fun, the management and marketing people were great, I really love Boston and it was again not only an honor but a pleasure." 2011

Author/Critic: AJ Wachtel wrote about Jimi Jamison for Rock Hard Magazine USA titled Jimi Jamison Thunder & Lightning 2011

"You know the story: In the beginning God created heaven and earth, on the sixth day he invented Heavy Metal, and on the seventh day the creator of the universe rested; his ears ringing from all the power chords he created. And these power chords needed power vocals and that's why Jimi Jamison and his angelic voice is such an important sound today. And you know HIS story: his career as a lead vocalist started in the 70's with TARGET, in the early 80's with COBRA and then with SURVIVOR where his versions of "Eye of The Tiger" from the movie ROCKY and "Burning Heart" from ROCKY IV made his delivery and sound unmistakable and identifiable all over the world. He also co-wrote and sang the theme song for the #1 most seen TV show "BAYWATCH" and to put this in the proper perspective: in many parts of the world there are more people familiar with this song than with any Lennon/McCartney composition.

He sings ballads and rockers and his great range and power really are equally well-suited for either style. Recent songs from his Crossroads Moment CD are good examples of his many talents: "When Rock Was King" is a great Queen/Phil Collins rocker and Jimi's high notes are so sweet and prove he's a singer, not a screamer, and "As Is" is a toughtful. introspective ballad that one can imagine would be a great arena encore complete with thousands of the audience's fists clenched over their heads and pounding out the beat. And one cant forget "Battersea," a great rocking song with powerful vocals and growling guitars."

2011 Jamison recently named Ambassador to Music Drives Us a recognized 501 (c) 3 -Jimi states "Changing the World Through Music is What it is all About."

"We are honored to have Jimi Jamison as an ambassador to represent Music Drives Us," said Music Drives Us Executive Director Carla Tardif. "Mr. Jamison exemplifies our music mission of giving back to the community to insure that music continues to thrive for people of all ages and abilities."

The Legendary, Beautiful, Talented, and Well Respected Toni Wine presently on tour with Tony Orlando and the Lefty Brothers is a huge fan of Jimi Jamison. Noticing Jimi early on in from his single "If I Cry." She states "Jimi has a voice that is heavenly from the first moment I heard it I knew he was destined for great things, I am such a fan still, watching closely knowing something big is going to happen again, it can't not with Jimi's talent, voice, and personality. Throughout his career although different decades you can tell he has kept his own personal style no matter what he is doing which is something to be respected. Jimi Jamison is incomparable." - 2011

"Jamison is a force to be reckoned with," states Jeff Lawrence New England Radio Legend. He goes on to say "watching Jimi all these years and now knowing Jimi his being recognized all over the world not surprising at all he keeps getting better and better, most recently his song "It Wouldn't Feel Like Christmas" came out of nowhere getting radio play all over and picked up momentum quickly." 2011

During the past year and a half I have watched the trend around Jimi Jamison in the Boston area, which historically has been a tough market to break into. Being born and raised in the Boston I was a huge fan of his when he was with Survivor, his voice and delivery was distinct and noticed then. He is still is a powerhouse and I can see why he is getting so much well deserved attention as a Solo Artist today. Having had the chance to see him perform live recently and getting to meet and work with him, he is equally as great a performer as he is a person. " Lynn Hoffman Host Private Sessions on A & E 2011

Jim Dowell Jamison's Manager who assisted greatly in Jimi's rise to International Solo Artist stature and a co writer of the song which was climbing the charts in 2011 The Restless Kind stated - "it is so great to have a connection with an artist you manage to be able to co write and have it be a success, Jimi is a great talent, he executes in a way any writer and manager would want above and beyond expectation." 2011 Also on the Restless Kind 2011 "As it's been said before, the singer makes the song, and both are in full working order here.. All young upstart singers could and should listen and learn.." Brynn Arens - Music and Video Producer, Musician, Director. 2011
