Marietta StreetFest Offers Art, Music, Classic Cars and Kids' Activities

Historic Atlanta Suburb Welcomes Outdoor Festival for a Family-Friendly Fun Event

MARIETTA, Ga. - July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- The 22nd Marietta StreetFest returns to historic Marietta Square with arts & crafts, an antique car show, local musicians and plenty of fun for children. History buffs will enjoy honoring the 150th anniversary of the Civil War with the Marietta Museum of History. Civil War activities will be announced soon.

On September 21, the Marietta Museum of History presents Marietta StreetFest, a one-day event with a top-notch Arts, Crafts & Antiques Market, the Hubcaps and History Classic Car Show, presented by Wickham Services, the popular Jewelry Row and a chance to visit the delightful neighborhood restaurants, shops and historic sites found around the Square. This year, the festival features a new layout for even better perusing.

Back for the second year, Marietta StreetFest includes the Children’s Zone with inflatables, make-n-take projects and interactive games. It’s all the fun a kid could ask for, and it’s even larger this year. Most activities are free, but some may require a fee. For adults looking for their next favorite piece of jewelry, a visit to Jewelry Row will offer more than 15 booths filled with various styles and price ranges.

This year, Marietta StreetFest is thrilled to welcome back the Marietta Grassroots Festival, featuring bands and singer/songwriters from throughout the metro area who will perform original music. Many bands and solo performers will create an entertaining afternoon of music of varying genres for listeners who can bring along blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic for a special afternoon and evening experience. Marietta Grassroots provides local musicians a chance to perform in front of larger crowds to gain more exposure. It was founded in 2009 as an outreach program to provide safe, family friendly events and activities with a special focus on showcasing local talent from Marietta and the surrounding communities. The Marietta Grassroots Festival is looking for musicians. Interested parties should visit www.mariettagrassroots.org to find out how to get involved.

Visitors the day of StreetFest will also receive free admission to the Marietta Museum of History. Marietta StreetFest has been recognized as a Southeastern Tourism Society Top 20 Event!
