The Sassies Awards & Festival Reveal Two-Part Submission Process

ATLANTA - July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- The two-part submission process for the SASSIE’S Awards & Festival began on July 1, 2013. The two-part process begins with a Juried portion that includes a panel of industry professionals and there is a Viewer’s Choice portions chosen by the fans.

All Web-Series*, Mobile apps and Games need to be submitted by midnight on July 31, 2013 Eastern Time. The entrance fee for Viewers Choice Web-Series Competition submission is $50 and for the Juried portion of the festival the entrance fee is $100. For mobile apps and games to be showcased the entrance fee is $25. Please submit your entries to enter@thesassiesawards.me

Eligibility Criteria for both the Viewer’s Choice and Juried Competition is as follows:

Maximum running time 15 minutes and have at least 3 episodes.

Must be directed, written and produced by a woman of color.

Must feature a woman of color or a mixed gender cast.

Must not have an exclusive broadcast agreement with any digital platform or network

Categories

·        Comedy

·        Drama

     (i.e. Romance, Thrillers, Horror etc)

     Docudrama

         (i.e. Environmental, Foreign, Political, Investigative etc.)

·        Inspirational/Spiritual

·        Sci-fi

Animated series will be accepted but need to fall within one of the defined categories

The Viewer’s Choice Voting Process:

The producers of the entered web series must engage the followers of their show and get as many votes as possible to be chosen to be screened at the Sassie Awards Festival. Voting via twitter begins 7am EDT on August 1^st and ends at midnight on August 12^th EDT; only the top 20 will be on-line screened so get those votes. The top 3 in each category will be presented during the festival for screening.

One Web-Series will be chosen by the Sassie’s Award Festival panelas the Grand prize winner and a winner in each genre will be chosen by the public as Best in Class by the attendees of the screenings (via text messaging).  The coveted Viewer’s Choice award will be chosen by the fans!

All entries must be received in office prior to the submission deadline July 31, 2013 by midnight(EST) to qualify. Anything received after the deadline will not be eligible to participate.
