Women's League of Science & Medicine Scholarship Awards Breakfast & Entertainment

NEW YORK - July 18, 2013 - PRLog -- The Women’s League of Science and Medicine, Inc. will host its Second Annual Scholarship Awards Breakfast on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the beautiful El Caribe Country Caterer’s Emerald Ballroom from 11:00am to 2:00pm.  This breakfast raises funds to benefit scholarships for high school seniors, freshman, pre-med and graduate students in various fields of study.

The Women’s League of Science and Medicine, Inc. (affectionately known as the “League”) was founded in 1960 by two visionaries, namely Reva M. Anthony and the late Sarah Parsons Blow, and has reached out and provided scholarships and citations to more than 680 aspiring students.  In 2012, the “League” presented twenty-two (22) scholarships to aspiring students in neuroscience, medicine, engineer, nursing and allied medicine to name a few.  The “League” is a non-profit organization.

No other organization provides scholarships to assist students on this many levels.  From 1993 to 2011 the “League” administered the prestigious Vivian Harrison Scholarship Endowment Fund under the direction of Executor James R. James.  This further enabled expansion of scholarships to students in the field of Law, Education, Social Science, Communication and the Arts.
