Three Years Dead -- The Murder Of Jeffrey S. Dryden

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - July 18, 2013 - PRLog -- It was three years ago, on a hot summer morning just as today that my cousin, Jeffrey Dryden, a then 28-year old factory rat returned to his apartment in the early morning hours of July 18^th to confront his soon to be ex-girlfriend.  A hope to be freed from her tyranny of Domestic Abuse, having been slashed at in the past, bones broken by her heated anger and rage, her control over his own free will.  

Yet sadly in the moments that followed on that hot steamy night just three years ago.  Evidence as well as a no contest guilty plea show that his live-in girlfriend, Chiquita Rena Fizer, stabbed young, defenseless, weaponless, deep in the neck with a steak knife as he attempted to flee from her after an altercation erupted over her cellphone for which he paid.  

Jeffrey, in a mess of pain mixed with fear, ran out of the apartment before collapsing feet away from his car just outside of the apartment, pronounced dead shortly after Police arrived on scene.

His alleged girlfriend, Chiquita R Fizer, taken into custody and subsequently charged with Second Degree Murder in Jeff's death. In the days and months that followed, it became clear that Jeff had been living a secret life, a life that our society does not currently recognize nor socially accepts as existing. Jeff was the victim of Male Domestic Abuse, the batterer, his Female Girlfriend.
