Famed Choreographer Giving Atlanta Dance Students a Chance to See Their Name in Lights

ATLANTA - July 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA. July 10, 2013 - Award winning professional choreographer CiCi Kelley is holding open auditions for a new dance program in Atlanta. GDA Prodigy is an intensive, career-based dance program for kids aged 7-18. Auditions will be held July 27^th, 2013 2:00pm at Gotta Dance Atlanta 1778 Ellsworth Industrial Drive Atlanta, Ga. Only kids and teens 7-18 years of age with at least three years of previous dance experience will be eligible to audition. Auditions will be judged by Ms. Kelley along with representatives from Xcel Talent Agency, J. Pervis Talent Agency, Core instructors and other industry professionals. Participants chosen to move on will begin their first semester of classes on August 6^th, 2013.

Created by Ms. Kelley to prepare talented dance students for successful dance careers; GDA Prodigy is a non-competitive, merit based dance program. At GDA Prodigy students will not only increase their skills in multiple dance genres, they will also gain skills in time management, responsibility, ensemble accountability, self-awareness and artistic credibility. The Prodigy program will include courses in dance history and appreciation, trips to dance conventions, a dance residency each semester and a concept video shoot. Students will finish off the year with a dance showcase.

Unlike other dance programs that focus on preparing students for competitions, Prodigy instructors will focus on education and training for successful transition into the next level of dance. “Our main objective is to develop artist who will transition seamlessly and successfully into the rigorous worlds of high school, collegiate and professional dance,” said CiCi Kelley. With GDA Prodigy, Ms. Kelley is giving students the chance to learn the dance profession from the inside out. Being involved in a concept video shoot, learning about the commercial dance industry and understanding what people are looking for when they hire dancers will allow Prodigy students to stand out as they navigate the professional dance world.

About CiCi Kelley – A native of Atlanta; renowned choreographer, dancer and producer, CiCi Kelley has accomplished much in her professional career.  Her list of accomplishments cross every end of the dance spectrum and genres.  With undergraduate training from The University Of The Arts, her choreography has been seen on the on national commercials for the Georgia Lottery and Atlanta Falcons, BET’s, 106th and Park, the 2004 MTV VMA’s, Musiq Soulchild’s “Stir the Senses” Tour, a 12 day European tour with the Fugees, and a stellar performance for 20,000+ fans for the 2013 Russel Athletic Bowl.  Also on her list of accomplishments, she has had the opportunity to go on tour with LL Cool J as well as appear in his powerful video along side Jennifer Lopez “Control Myself,” & Outkast’s “Ghetto Music.” Kelley’s work has also been observed in many stage plays across the nation such as The Wilson Pickett Project, Satin Dolls a Duke Ellington Review, and Tell Hell I Aint Coming.

Kelley’s amazing performance skills have also been witnessed on TV with the extraordinary Beyonce Knowles in her “Get Me Bodied” music video as well as her 2009 MTV VMA “Single Ladies” performance.  MTV has highly favored Kelley twice with appearances on the heavily rotated Emmy Award winning hit TV series, MTV MADE & MTV MADE Head to Head Hip Hop Challenge with Laurie Ann Gibson, Chris Judd & Soulja Boy. Kelley’s work is also gracing stages internationally with Multi Grammy Award winning artist Toni Braxton as her tour choreographer as well as a recent appearances on WE TV’s Braxton Family Values.  

With her talent and skill set in Choreography and dance, Kelley is now filling in the shoes and taking on the role as producer with her production company CK Productions, LLC, with a highly publicized and critically acclaimed 6 year strong choreographer’s showcase and benefit entitled Phazes Of Love.
