BELVIDERE, Ill. - July 28, 2013 - PRLog -- A new short story about an airline worker and his free-spirited wife makes an appearance in Canada's underground online arts and culture Zouch Magazine. But as far as 2013 goes, it's just the beginning for this busy American author.

"Angelina" is the story by Doug Shiloh about Benton Muller, an airline skycap, and his free-spirited, if not manipulative wife Angelina. The childless couple live a travel-rich lifestyle until one day, something happens that changes their world. Zouch Magazine bills it as "a sweeping tale of love, happenstance, tragedy and the toll of time."

The story can be found at http://www.zouchmagazine.com/angelina.

"Zouch has been great to work with," Shiloh said. "I'm proud of my association with them. They have a real vision, with everything from their artwork to their writing choices."

Zouch first published Shiloh in January of 2012 with his story "The Paparazzo", a tale of the 'battle of the sexes' with the backdrop of track and field.

The magazine is described as "Stoking the independent spirit of artists and writers since 2010, Zouch is a literature, arts and society rag with an old-school Victorian edge. It publishes fiction, poetry art and reviews from all over the world and has editors in the U.S., Canada and France. Zouch publishes live content each Wednesday on its website, http://www.zouchmagazine.com."

Along with a newly published story, Shiloh has completed the first session of recording for an audiobook version of his sarcastic novel "Pookoo." The cautionary story of an ex-Olympian, his girlfriend and his best friend is set in the pre-Internet era of 1991 in Chicago. It's a story of celebrity run amok. Shiloh will be relaunching the novel in conjunction with the audio book. He is recording at Underground Squirrel Studio in Rockford, Illinois. Micky Rosenquist is Engineer.

"It went real well," Shiloh said of the session. "The second is already slated for the coming weekend. WordPlaySound.com published a chapter from 'Pookoo' and it was received well, so that showed people want the whole book on audio."

"Pookoo", in both paperback and audio book form, should be ready for Christmas, 2013.

Also this summer, Shiloh reignited The Literary Road Show, a live reading group frequented by writers and readers. The monthly program oficially kicks off its year on September 14th with Shiloh hosting a Literary Road Show event at the InPrint Writers' Group held at the Cherry Valley Library. He will be interviewed afterwards for the group's radio program. Follow The Road Show on Facebook or at Twitter, http://www.twitter.com/litroadshow.

"There's nothing like hearing a writer read their own work," Shiloh said, "and we expect it to be a dynamite show with all of the participants giving their best 8 minutes of material."

The summer of 2013 began well when Shiloh married writer B.L. Bernadette. The two live in a small Illinois town in a 113-year-old two story house.

"We are very blessed by God," Shiloh added. "Living with a fellow writer is like something out of a book or a TV series!"

Shiloh will begin prepping his second novel for publication during the winter, and hopes to begin work on his third novel. His web site is http://www.dougshiloh.com.
