City of San Leandro Launches “San Leandro Next” Community Outreach Initiative

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. - July 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Mayor Stephen Cassidy announced today that the City of San Leandro Community Development Department has launched “San Leandro Next,” a blog and social media initiative to provide news and updates on economic development and innovation. This effort will enhance the City’s ability to share information with the community quickly as news develops.  “As we build out our 18-mile gigabit-speed broadband network Lit San Leandro, we will highlight our progress in transforming San Leandro into a center of innovation, as well as highlight the many exciting, new businesses coming to town and significant initiatives by current businesses across our vibrant and diversified local economy,” stated Mayor Cassidy.  

Examples of initial postings on San Leandro Next include:

·         The Cleophus Quealy Beer Company recently announced plans to open a craft brewery and tasting room on Hester Street in San Leandro.

·         CreAsian Bistro on MacArthur Boulevard has been purchased by the owners of Berkeley’s Taste of the Himalayas. The new owners will be adding Indian and Nepalese dishes to the menu, filling a big need for Indian food in San Leandro.

·         A slideshow of historic photos from the San Leandro Dodge plant at the site of the current Westgate Center on Davis Street.
