Michigan Business and Professional Association Presents Health Care Reform Conference on July 25

July 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Now that the employer mandate portion of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been delayed, businesses need to be prepared for what the future will hold. The Michigan Business and Professional Association (http://www.michbusiness.org/) (MBPA) is hosting a Health Care Reform Connect Conference. The conference will take place Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 5700 28th St SE. in Grand Rapids.

This conference is designed for any business or trusted advisor preparing for the immediate rules related to Health Care Reform. Tax penalties, credits, full-time employee status and health benefits changes will all be covered by expert presenters.

The day’s events will start off with registration and networking at 8:00 a.m. and a series of interactive educational sessions. The morning will kick off with “Affordable Care Act Update: What’s New; The Operational Impact of Health Care Reform on Your Business.” The discussion will be moderated by Bonnie Bochniak, vice president of Government Relations for MBPA and will include insights from panelists:

·         Fritz Teutsch, president, BASIC

·         Mark Lemoine, director, System Government Affairs, Spectrum Health System

·         Alisa Bennett, manager, Health Care Reform Team, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan  

Other sessions include “The ACA keeps changing, but it’s still here. What will move forward and what won’t?” moderated by Jennifer Werner, vice president of Insurance Services for MBPA and joined by speaker Larry Grudzien, attorney. The day will continue with a Health Care Reform Connect™ Review presented by Jennifer Werner.

The event will conclude with an Expert Town Hall: Today’s Experts Answer Your Questions. Moderators will include Carole Valade from Grand Rapids Business Journal, Bonnie Bochniak, vice president of Government Relations for MBPA and Jennifer Werner, vice president of Insurance Services for MBPA. The panelists will include:
