New Jersey Defensive Driving Course Now Available Online

July 17, 2013 - PRLog -- The State of New Jersey has some of the best incentives for motorists to take a defensive driving course.  After completing a course approved by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC), and obtaining an 80% on a final exam drivers will have 2 points removed from their driving record.  Drivers must have points on their driving record before taking the course; completion of a defensive driving course will not remove any pending points.  Course takers will also receive a mandatory insurance discount of up to 10% for three years; the value of the discount varies based on the policy of the motorists’ insurance company but by law completion of an approved defensive driving course guarantees motorists a discount.  Drivers must simply provide their insurance company with a copy of their Certificate of Completion in order to obtain this discount.

In previous years, the defensive driving course had to be taken in a classroom setting, forcing drivers to sacrifice six hours at night or on the weekend in order to reap the benefits of this program.  However, in 2008 the NJMVC began allowing motorists to take the defensive driving course online, greatly relieving the burden that classroom sessions put on drivers wishing to remove points and lower insurance premiums.  This change has not only created an opportunity for drivers to learn better driving habits from any Internet connected device but also has allowed approved agencies to offer the course at a lower rate than typical classroom settings.

Approved in December of 2012 DriveSafeToday.com, Inc. has quickly become the leading provider of the New Jersey Defensive Driving Course.  DriveSafeToday.com’s innovate platform provides course-takers with an interactive online version of the defensive driving course. What’s more, the entire course is read aloud to the student ensuring the entire experience is both fulfilling and relaxing. While, New Jersey law requires course takers to spending a minimum of six-hour on the course, DriveSafeToday.com allows its users to log in and log out as many times as necessary in order to complete this requirement. While those taking the course online must still pass a final exam with a score of 80% or better, the course-taker has an unlimited number of retakes to pass the final exam.  Once the student completes the course, the Certificate of Completion is available for download immediately.
