Guy Dawson and the Clark County Assessor Talk Business and Tax Exemptions you may be missing out on.

Las Vegas, NV (July 16th, 2013) – The Clark County Assessor, Michele Shafe joins PR Connections radio to discuss her role as a County Assessor and what benefits there are for Clark County residents.  Guy Dawson, PR Connections host, will be interviewing this informative new guest, Wed July 17th^th at 1:00pm on KLAV 1230 AM.    

An Assessor’s main duty is evaluating and appraising all property in his or her county.  Essentially Assessor’s like Michele, live and breath everything taxes.  

“What I enjoy most about my job is working with the public and providing information about the assessment process, exemption programs and other services that the office offers,” Shafe explained.  

Shafe has a long history working within the Clark County government offices.  She was the Assistant Director of Assessment Services for 13 years and before that she was a Senior Financial Analyst for the Clark County Finance Department for over nine years.  Shafe also holds a Property Tax Appraiser Certificate in real and personal property from the State of Nevada.        

Along with being the Clark County Assessor, Shafe takes an active role in the Las Vegas youth.  She served eight years on the Board of Directors for the Girls Scouts of Southern Nevada, and four years as Executive Vice President.  Shafe has also taken interest with the Junior League of Las Vegas, serving two years on the Board of Directors and four years as Sustaining Advisor to he Fundraising Development Council.  

“When I work with youth,” Shafe explained,  “I emphasize the importance of education, and the value that a college, university or trade school will have in helping them to find a good job doing something that they enjoy.”

Shafe is a Las Vegas native, graduating from Chaparral High School and receiving her B.S. in Business Administration and M.B.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
