The Dermatology Alliance names Alabama Medical Director, Eric W. Baum, MD

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - July 15, 2013 - PRLog -- The Dermatology Alliance, an Independent Physician Association, today announces the appointment of Eric W. Baum, MD to Medical Director for the State of Alabama.

“Dr. Baum brings a great deal of enthusiasm and energy to the Dermatology Alliance” said Robert E. Nevin. “It will be a pleasure working with him in advancing our activities and projects for the benefit of our membership."

Eric W. Baum, M.D. is on staff at the Gadsden Regional Medical Center and the Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama.  Dr. Baum received his medical degree from Stony Brook Medical Center in Stony Brook New York.  He completed an internship at Lincoln Hospital of New York Medical College and a residency in Dermatology at the University of Alabama Medical Center.  In 1983, he received a Dermatology-Diplomate from the American Board of Dermatology.  A member of the Board of Directors of the Alabama Dermatology Society, Dr. Baum has also served as the societies President, Meeting Director and Secretary-Treasurer.  Dr. Baum has also served on the Advisory Council of the American Academy of Dermatology and is currently a fellow.  He is also a member of the Southern Medical Association, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Dermatology Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, where he has served as President and member of the board.  Dr. Baum has been named the American Cancer Society’s Volunteer of the Year and has won the Physician’s Recognition Award for Continuing Medical Education on multiple occasions. Dr. Baum has a special interest in medical education.  He is the founder of Dermatology on the Beach and has served as it’s only Program Director, since its inception, 15 years ago.
