CHARLOTTE, N.C. - July 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Kym Gordon Moore, author of “Wings of the Wind: A Cornucopia of Poetry” announces the winner of her Free Poetry Book Giveaway for June. Shante Anderson was chosen as the winner and recipient of a free autographed copy of Kym’s book of poetry, “Wings of the Wind: A Cornucopia of Poetry.” This contest was a bonus for listeners from an interview conducted by Francene Marie Morris on The Francene Marie Show in Charlotte, North Carolina. The competition was a personal challenge to listeners, giving them an opportunity to express their inner poet, by submitting a short, personally composed 4-line poem, whether it was rhymed or unrhymed.

Shante Anderson’s poem, “My Name Is Jealousy” was chosen as the winning poem for this contest.

I'm only up when the next man is down,

can only smile after making someone frown;

outwardly I'm confident and self assured,

inwardly I'm coward and quite absurd. My name is Jealousy.

Shante, an avid lover of poetry, lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband David.  “I enjoy writing poetry and compose poems as God leads me. I am the mother of three beautiful children and ‘Glam-mother’ of four,” says Shante. Her favorite poets are Maya Angelou and Edgar Allen Poe. She uses her passion for photography to capture the essence of people and places she visits, that portray stories of life, beauty and survival.

Shante enjoys her work at Dove’s Nest, a women’s addition recovery program and subsidiary of The Charlotte Rescue Mission. She began as the Case Manager and Volunteer Coordinator with Dove’s Nest during the time the facility was only able to house up to 12 female residents. Today, Shante serves as one of the Counselors for the new Dove’s Nest, which is currently a 120-bed facility that is able to serve children as well as their mothers (90 beds for women and 30 for their children). Shante is in the process of trying to develop the mother’s and children’s program at Dove’s Nest.

Kym Gordon Moore was pleased to announce that Shante Anderson was the winner of the “Wings of the Wind: A Cornucopia of Poetry Contest” from The Francene Marie Show. She plans to collaborate with Shante to do a special poetry workshop for Dove’s Nest. “Wings of the Wind: A Cornucopia of Poetry” can be purchased through Barnesandnoble.com, Amazon.com and Outskirtspress.com. Kym is the administrator of the Tea and Poetry Book Club http://www.teaandpoetrybookclub.blogspot.com/, and selected as one of the 2012 and 2013 U.S. World Book Night Volunteer Book Givers. http://www.kymgmoore.com
