“Why is Obamacare picking on me?”

Healthy consumers will be paying more for their premiums than sick consumers. Premiums should be based on usage. The more you use, the more you pay but that is not the case with Obamacare. By Greg Black

NEW YORK - July 15, 2013 - PRLog -- New York, NY – July 15, 2013 - We should have the autonomy to choose our own health care.  However, with the advent of the Affordable Care Act’s one-size fits all, this will not be the case.  With the ACA, there is not a choice for people who take a natural approach to health care better known as proactive wellness.  I am one of them and my beliefs are all natural (naturopath) and I do not believe in Western medicine, as it causes more side effects than it does good.  If I have made the choice to use naturopath, instead of Western medicine, then why should I be forced to buy a private product (health insurance), if I am not ever going to use it?  I should be able to choose how I want to spend my money on my own health care.  It would be a good option for me, if I could choose to invest my money in a health savings account (HSA) for my funeral costs, which I know I will use and need, eventually.

The one-size fits all ACA mandate doesn’t work because everyone has different health care needs from one another at different stages in their life.  Why make the healthy pay more than the sick?  Why make the old pay more than the young?  If one is older and healthy and believes in alternative medicine and lives a healthy lifestyle, then why should they pay more than someone who is young, obese, and smokes?  According to Appleby, Kaiser Health News (2009) there should be a 5:1 ratio not a 2:1 ratio, as we see with the ACA of cost per premium between the demographic of the old and young, whereas it should be based on sick vs. healthy. The sick people use health care services more often than healthy people. Instead we're seeing the young subsidizing the old with the ACA model and they fear that the young will opt out because they will experience price shock of higher premiums.

Health insurance should be based on how much one uses it not age.  For healthy people, their health insurance is a healthy, organic diet, supplements, and a membership to gym/yoga.  The cost of this proactive lifestyle can reach $400 per month or more.  Should their needs not be addressed and met, as well?  Taking a proactive approach to health care or "wellness" is the most cost-effective way to manage one's personal health care finances.  By investing in a healthy lifestyle, one reduces potential future illnesses and degenerative diseases, like cancer.  This would translate into a better quality of life in the golden years with more independence, as well as reducing the burden on our health care delivery system that is already experiencing a shortage with health care providers, due to the influx of Baby Boomers retiring and the ACA's new insured.

If wellness products were more affordable, more people would take a proactive approach.  Sheepguru.com is focusing on the niche market of people living healthy lifestyles by taking a proactive approach to wellness.  Their goal is to provide affordable proactive wellness products for everyone to enjoy.  By providing affordable wellness products, people will be able to save money, which can go towards an HSA or Roth IRA account.  They will also live a better quality of life.

One of their highlighted products is the micronutrient test kit that will be priced well below the market price for more people to afford and benefit from.  The micronutrient test will be coming out in September 2013.  Their business model is not based on profits but rather based on the volume of people they help take the first step to proactive wellness.  By taking the micronutrient test, one can determine their deficiencies, on an intracellular level, to optimize one’s wellness without over-spending on extra supplements that are not required.

Supplement efficiency would help people save a lot of money on the cost of their proactive wellness program.  Taking a proactive approach to wellness would reduce obesity, diabetes, and rising health care costs, while increasing cost efficiency within the health care delivery system.  Sheepguru.com is also creating a network of CAM providers, yoga studios, and gyms that will offer discounts on memberships for more to afford.

Sheepguru.com is always evolving and adapting to their ever-changing environment.  As new features are released, new ones are being developed. The proactive wellness program will be launched September 2013.
