National Christian Foundation Celebrates $4 Billion in Grants to Charity

TAMPA, Fla. - July 12, 2013 - PRLog -- National Christian Foundation (NCF) reached a monumental milestone in their giving history today when they granted their four billionth dollar since 1982. In recent years, the charity has gained significant momentum as they granted $12 million in their first decade, $447 million in the second, and more than $3.5 billion in the third, most recent decade. And with over $5 billion in contributions since 1982, NCF was named the 19th largest charity in America in 2012 by The Chronicle of Philanthropy.

NCF National President David Wills said, "Over the past 30 years, we have worked to build a foundation to help simplify giving and multiply the impact. This is just the latest milestone in the modern-day Christian generosity movement, and we're excited to play a part in this historic time of giving."

The recipient of the four billionth grant dollar was AFCM International (www.afcminternational.org) who will use the money to support an orphanage in Thailand that provides housing and schooling for children rescued from the sex trade. The grant was recommended by a group of givers in Midland, Michigan through their Grounds for a Better World Giving Fund at NCF. These givers work with the NCF office in Eastern Michigan located in Birmingham, Michigan.

“NCF Tampa Bay (NCFTB) has granted more than $54 million since 2006 and continues to grow locally by offering expert counsel and innovative, flexible giving solutions,” said NCFTB President Robert Collins.
