July 12, 2013 - PRLog -- According to Affordable Care Act (ACA), which begins in 2014, health insurance coverage for California residents and small businesses will be available through state's insurance exchange program. Under this act, states can choose to run state based or federal based or state-federal partnership program. California's  exchange will be operated and run by state. Coverage purchased through this exchange will be effective from January 1, 2014.

In September, 2010, former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, signed a law which created state's health benefit exchange program called as 'Covered California'. This is a new easy-to-use online marketplace using which individuals and small businesses will be able to compare and choose health coverage which will be most suitable for them according to their budget and needs. It is expected that the exchange will help more than 2.3 million state residents to select and obtain health coverage.
