Mount Rainier: After learning basic snow climbing skills, participants on this Wilderness Ventures trip embark on a climb of Mount Adams followed by a two day trek of Mount Rainier, an iconic volcano that peaks at 14,410 feet. While building on the fundamentals of snow climbing and mountaineering techniques, travelers backpack through the pristine wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. Other highlights include backpacking through North Cascades National Park, whitewater rafting the Sauk River, and more.

Grand Teton: The world-famous Exum School of Mountaineering offers teens the necessary skills to scale the spires of the Teton Range on this exciting Wilderness Ventures journey. The two-day instructional program covers knots, signals and belaying, rappelling, and other safety-related techniques followed by a two-day journey to the 13,771-foot summit of the Grand Teton, one of the world’s most famous peaks. This trip also includes Snake River rafting, backpacking through the Wind River Mountain Range, sea kayaking in Yellowstone, and more.

Kilimanjaro: At 19,341 feet, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro is the “roof of Africa”. On this adventure trip, Wilderness Ventures takes teens on a seven day ascent through multiple ecosystems to discover this spectacular mountain. The experience culminates with an early morning climb to reach the summit at day break. In addition to the Kilimanjaro experience, participants will learn about the local culture and language, search for Africa’s “Big 5” on classic game drives, visit an elephant orphanage, volunteer to help local Maasai villagers, and much more.  

Mount Shasta: This Wilderness Ventures (http://www.wildernessventures.com) tour takes teens through some of California’s breathtaking wilderness areas. After a snow climbing school where students learn climbing skills such as roping procedures, use of a crampon, and ice axe use from the Shasta Mountain Guides, participants embark on an exploration of the 14,162-foot dormant volcano known as Mount Shasta. In addition to experiencing the breathtaking summit at Mount Shasta, teens backpack through the Trinity Alps, kayak and raft the Klamath River, surf on Half Moon Bay and explore San Francisco.

Northwest Summits: This extraordinary mountaineering experience from Wilderness Ventures offers teens the chance to explore three of the Pacific Northwest’s most famous peaks including climbing Mount Olympus, snow climbing Mount Adams, and snow and ice climbing Mount Baker. The journey also includes backpacking through the Olympic Rainforest in Olympic National Park and whitewater rafting the thrilling rapids of the White Salmon River.
