MOORESTOWN, N.J. - July 14, 2013 - PRLog -- (Moorestown, N.J.) – AMD Law, a premier international trade law firm, will offer free fashion week services that include a complimentary website and brand protection review to designers featured in 2013 and 2014 season fashion week events.

“AMD Law is proud to support and protect designers exhibiting their new designs at one of four major fashion weeks held around the world,” said Aurelia Mitchell Durant, senior partner and founder. “Disputes can be costly to both established and debuting collections. Our free website and brand protection review is the first step in the protection process.”

Legal protection of intellectual property rights for luxury goods such as high fashion products and designer merchandise safeguards brands, designs, and product lines in a globalized market. Design protection preserves the originality of the work in both functionality and aesthetics. Copyright law protects the art and designs used to package and embellish the work such as fashion cosmetics, a major part of the industry for luxury items.

Earlier this year, the Kardashians’ Khroma Beauty was forced to change its name to Kardashian Beauty, according to the Huffington Post. Their line was accused of trademark infringement that caused harm to makeup sales from the Florida-based brand Kroma Makeup owned by Lee Tillett Inc.

The Official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will be held from September 5 through September 12 at Lincoln Center in New York City. Spring and summer collections from designers will include Calvin Klein, Juicy Couture, and Marc Jacobs.

According to Mercedes-Benz, "Fashion Week events provide designers with an international platform to showcase their collections to hundreds of thousands of industry insiders from around the world, including buyers, retailers, celebrities, VIPs and members of the regional, national and international press. Style, beauty, supermodels, and celebrities come together to present the best in fashion."

In July 2013, AMD Law announced the launch of a new luxury law division with a refinement of focus to assist luxury businesses in brand development, protection, and sustainment. Durant recognized that many of the firm’s clients are in the luxury classification that include high end cosmetic providers, furniture designers, pop-culture artists, and fashion designers.
