Fine Artist Warren Keating is slated for an unprecedented event combining expressive mark-making with a digital process, resulting in a gallery exhibit in Los Angeles with a simultaneous exhibit online, hosted by San Francisco based Ugallery. Keating's overhead series of paintings for the show entitled “Every Step You Take,” depict intimate portraits of pedestrians in Paris captured digitally and interpreted for the canvas. Working from surveillance style video images for reference, Keating's energetic brush strokes work the oil paint over blank canvases revealing the future and the past through the lens of the present moment. To show the works in a brick-and-mortar gallery with a simultaneous online exhibit brings the work full circle: from digital image, to oil on canvas, to brick-and-mortar gallery, to digital image in an online gallery.

While this may become the future of the way art is seen, sold and appreciated, it is the first exhibit of its kind, hallmarking the cooperative efforts of the well established and much respected non-profit Los Angeles Art Association's Gallery 825, online retailer Ugallery.com and the artist himself. Keating's work is a perfect fit for this kind of groundbreaking effort. A successful artist with collectors around the globe, his work has sold steadily online, but the experience is incomplete. At the end of the day, a painting is meant to be experienced in person. While digital images of the work may sell the paintings, collectors are surprised when the actual artwork arrives, exceeding all expectations. It's sort of the reverse of viewing the Mona Lisa for the first time, “It's so small” being the most common response.

Keating's commitment to making art available and accessible to everyone, combined with his personal passion and integrity, come together in this perfect storm of fine art and internet shopping opportunity. Artists have been dependent on the gallery system for centuries. In this new age, artists have the ability to introduce their work to their audience directly. Competition is the way of the past. It is the combination of resources, the confluence of effort, the cooperation of artists and galleries – online and on the street - that will ultimately describe the future of the art world. more info / related release > (http://www.warrenkeating.com/long-press-release.html)
