Residents of the DMV area should prepare themselves for a new flavor in town.  After much blood, sweat and tears, Smoke Stacks House of BBQ was officially opened in the winter of 2012 and has grown by leaps and bounds since. Smoke Stacks House of BBQ has come a long way from the roadside establishment it once was.  Smoke Stacks is owned and operated by Darrick Stackhouse and is located at 5440 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, MD and is open 7 days a week from 9am-8pm.  

Smoke Stacks is a BBQ-style restaurant that fuses the mouth-watering taste of savory, hickory-smoked meats and spicy blends.  Specialties include brisket, burnt-ends and of course ribs done to perfection.  The establishment may be small but the food it produces is large in taste.

The methods used by Smoke Stacks House of BBQ to create barbecue are unique.  A combination of recipes and procedures that is almost impossible to find anywhere in the DMV area.  All meats start by being rubbed with a unique blend of spices prior to placing them into a smoker fired with cherry, oak and hickory wood for up to 8 hours. By using the best cuts of meat and slow-cooking them in a smoker, Smoke Stacks produces barbeque that is tender and flavorful and still maintains its meatiness.

Smoke Stacks evolved out of Darrick’s love and quest for good BBQ.  He is a true lover of good ole fashioned BBQ and has traveled far and wide to do his research and taste the wares of his competition.  He has become a BBQ aficionado and as a result Smoke Stacks was recently voted one of the top-10 best BBQ restaurants in the DMV.   This is definitely a spot that is sending up “smoke signals”!
