The programs selected are among the most requested topics and present an excellent opportunity for professional development for those new to the industry, as well as those seeking to simply sharpen their skills.” The IMUA summer Professional Development schedule kicks off with a one-day workshop jointly sponsored with AIMU on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in New York with “Learn to Negotiate.” On Wednesday, July 31, 2013 it’s “Understanding Security Seals,” A walking tour of the Joseph A. Balzano Marine Terminal in NJ, the number one plywood port in the US, and a look inside a large cocoa warehouse, will be the two stops of the August 7, 2013 day-long field trip. Jointly sponsored with AIMU, participants will learn the administrative processing procedures, as well as observe the equipment used in loading and unloading the port. In addition, those in attendance will learn how these materials are delivered, handled and stored.
