July 9, 2013 - PRLog -- I was wandering through the office, trying to recover from the occasional spreadsheet brain melt we all experience from time to time, and stumbled upon something that made me chuckle: a coworker under his desk. We’ve all seen our share of silliness when we go on our little 15 min anti-coma jaunts. I would have expected him to possibly be rocking back and forth in the fetal position so I could yell “Clean Up Isle 3!”, but he wasn’t. He was actually very focused with his legs straight out in front of him, doing tricep pull ups. When I asked what in the world he was doing, his response was “trying not to turn into a mushroom”. I suddenly had this awful mental picture of what I look like from behind sitting in my office chair, and a mushroom form started to take shape. I’ve been terrified ever since.

This is something I’ve been trying to keep an eye on because for me, sitting comes easily. I know there are those of you that are busy bodies out there that can’t sit still for a long period of time cause you just gotta go go go! To you I say phooey. I love watching tv and am under the firm belief that one’s own bed is the best place in the world. So needless to say, this comes as a struggle for me. Especially when working from home. It’s VERY easy to grow roots.
