BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - July 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Immediate Response to Novitas Medicare Revalidation Request Necessary to Maintain Ambulance Payments
Novitas Solutions (JH Medicare Administrative Contractor) has announced two revalidation mailings for both June 28 and July 19, 2013. The revalidation will affect the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

In all, 18,000 Medicare providers/suppliers (including ambulance) will receive revalidation requests.

Why is this important?
Revalidation has been mandated by Congress for all suppliers/providers. Fundamentally, the process involves hitting the “reset” button with Medicare. In addition to the completion of the revalidation application forms—similar to the initial application process—there is a fee assessed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the final process will include a site verification visit from a CMS contractor to verify the location reported as an actual EMS/fire station location.

Providers/suppliers who fail to revalidate within the 60-day window allowed for response, face the suspension and eventual deactivation of Medicare billing privileges.
