Follow on Google News | Rae Sikora Inducted into Vegetarian Hall of FameRae Sikora, was inducted into the Vegetarian Hall of Fame on July 8th, 2013. The ceremony was held at the 39th annual Vegetarian SummerFest, in Johnstown, PA., which is sponsored by the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS).
Sikora has trained hundreds of humane educators. Through her designed workshops, taught by others, she has reached hundreds of thousands of students. She has helped millions of people and scores of communities worldwide through distance-learning certificate and degree programs, conferences, seminars, workshops, presentations, publications, books, websites, radio and TV interviews. Sikora’ Co-created, the first of it's kind, The Institute for Humane Education in Blue Hill, Maine Started the first certification program for humane education Started the first Masters program in Humane Education through Cambridge College (now with the University of Valparaiso). Authored and soon to be published, Sharing Home, lesson plans on humane education Co-authored Plant Peace Daily: Everyday Outreach for People Who Care, an activism book Co-authored Sowing Seeds Workbook: A Humane Education Primer Co-founded Plant Peace Daily, an organizational activism platform Co-founded VegFund, an organization funding vegan outreach around the world with a current annual budget of over 1.4 million dollars Serves on the advisory board of the internationally- Sikora has been a spokesperson for animals, the environment, and human rights for over 35 years. Her innovative programs have been changing people’ Rae Sikora joins a small elite group of individuals who have been recognized for their contributions to the advancement of the vegetarian lifestyle. Some former inductees are: Howard Lyman (cowboy author who was sued along with Oprah Winfrey in the 90s), Richard Schwartz, PhD (author and president of Jewish Vegetarians of North America), T.
