Richard Simon Elected to President of Engineered Tax Services

Richard was born near Harrow in North West London, England and was educated in the United Kingdom at Grenville College in Bideford, Devon and graduated with a major in business.  Richard then went on to travel for three years working in various management and education roles in Europe, the Pacific Rim, and the USA. He then went on to lead the family business, University Tailors, from 1973 – 1988 and later used his entrepreneurial talents to start a successful tax planning business for senior executives that incorporated fashion, tailoring and executive presentation.

In 1988 Richard was approached to sell the financial services business to a tax consultant, and the tailoring business to our national competitor and after selling all interests in the UK he permanently moved to the US and started a scuba business and environmental consultancy business.

In 1992 he contracted with the US EPA and Environment Canada on a 5-year project studying on ground water contamination from Perchloroethylene.

He was then recruited in 1997 to join Tenet Physician Services, the largest US for profit hospital corporation as a regional director acquiring, integrating and managing with P&L responsibility with 30+ practices in Florida and Georgia. Richard was promoted to COO in 2002 and was in charge of returning the Tenet owned practices to the physicians until closing the division in 2004.

Richard joined Pediatrix Medical Group as Director of Operations, pediatric subspecialty management of neonatal units, and pediatric cardiology offices. He was promoted in 2008 to National Director of Pediatric Cardiology with the goal of developing the largest pediatric cardiology practice in the world with the technology and national goals that would include: EHR, research, CQI, national meetings, and cross mentoring which he completed in 2013 and was recently recruited and joined ETS.

Richard has lived in S. Florida since 1988 and for the last 10 years has been in West Palm Beach, FL. He has been married for 19 years to Mimi Simon.

Interests outside of business include water sports, boating, swimming, scuba diving, private pilot, walking, travel, and food.
