Emergency Communications Network to partner with Galain Solutions on tactical FEMA IPAWS webinar

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - July 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Emergency Communications Network (ECN), the nation’s largest provider of high-speed multimodal emergency notification solutions, has announced its partnership with Rick Wimberly, senior consultant for FEMA Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS), to co-present in an upcoming webinar to discuss the IPAWS system as it relates to emergency notification.

Wimberly is also president of Galain Solutions, the nation’s leading independent consultancy on alerts and warnings. Joining Wimberly on the webinar is Don Hall, ECN’s Director of Government Relations, who has more than 40 years of emergency management and public safety experience.

The webinar is intended primarily for emergency manager practitioners and other IPAWS stakeholders to help public safety officials better understand the system, its purpose and its uses and capabilities. ECN offers IPAWS access to authorized COGs through the CodeRED emergency notification solution. Available since 2011, the CodeRED IPAWS interface has been regularly demonstrated by FEMA officials at industry tradeshows and events.

The CodeRED IPAWS interface was recently tested at the Incident Management Test and Evaluation Laboratory through the FEMA P-TAC Center in support of the Supporting Technology Evaluation Project (STEP). Test engineers found the CodeRED IPAWS system conforms to Common Alerting Protocol v.1.2 Standard USA IPAWS Profile v1.0.
