Past President of the Concrete Society David Ball on International Judging Panel

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. - July 8, 2013 - PRLog -- The contest, being held in Belgium on 8th July, will be the eighth biennial competition aimed at all engineering and design firms working with software from the Nemetschek Engineering Group.

David Ball has chaired many conferences all over the world and is a highly respected figure within the global construction industry. Having gained over 40 years’ experience as well as accumulating an extensive knowledge of concrete along the way, David is highly regarded as a leading concrete specialist.

David will be one of nine jurors who will assess all contest submissions based on their originality, level of difficulty, prestige and the innovative use of software.

Winners and nominees will be selected from the following categories: Buildings, Civil Structures, Industrial Buildings and Plants, Industrialized Planning and Special Projects. Entries have been submitted by 97 companies, from 28 different countries, making this a truly global event.

For the winners of the competition there are cash prizes along with a feature in Nemetschek’s Inspirations in Engineering book. This book will feature all of the winners’ projects, with 5000 copies being distributed free of charge.
