MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - July 7, 2013 - PRLog -- "Emeralds of the Alhambra", John Cressler's historical novel about the peaceful cohabitation of Jews, Muslims and Christians in medieval Granada,  was #1 thanks to record turn-out at his release event.  C. James Gilbert's "A Deeper Sense of Loyalty," a Civil War-era historical novel about the horrors of slavery ranked #2 due to author events in Gettysburg.

Sunbury's sales for the second quarter of 2013 were up 12% over Q1 2013 and up 32% from the same quarter in 2012.  Year to date, sales are up 35% over last year.  EBook sales plummeted 22% this quarter, compared to Q1, as print sales soared 26%. "We're noticing something changing with eBooks," said publisher Lawrence Knorr. "Growth in this area has definitely peaked.  We've seen steep declines on both the Nook and Kindle platforms. We've also seen a decline in orders from Amazon for print.  We attribute most of our sales increases to independent bookstore orders."

Mike Campbell's "Amelia Earhart - The Truth At Last" moved up a notch, taking #3 on the list, thanks to continued steady sales.

The Joe's -- Farrell and Farley -- took the hat trick with all three "Keystone Tombstones" volumes making the top ten thanks to attention to the series due to the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.  "Volume 2" ranked 4th, "Civil War" 6th and "Volume 1" 10th. There was continuous coverage in the local media for 18 straight days related to the series and more frequent airings of the "Keystone Tombstones" episodes on PCN.

Sue Fox McGovern's "Raising Monarchs," a how-to guide to raising butterflies in your backyard, debuted at #5 thanks to author events in Illinois.

"Winter of the Metal People," Dennis Herrick's historical novel about the Tiguex War -- a clash between the Spanish and Pueblo Indians -- ranked #7 thanks media attention in New Mexico.

Dr. Brandon Musgrave's "Hour 30," a young doctor's memoir about the rigors of medical school, ranked #8 thanks to eBook sales in the US and India.
