High Drive Pups Opens Full-Service All-Breed Grooming Salon

CLEVELAND - July 6, 2013 - PRLog -- High Drive Pups (HDP), a local dog training and boarding business, is pleased to announce the addition of a new service at its newly remodeled training and boarding facility: the HDP Grooming Salon.  The full-service, all-breed salon will be run in collaboration with Salon Creative Grooming, owned and operated by Pet Stylist Megan Barrett.

The Salon will feature professional, show-style yet affordable grooming for dogs and cats. Services include bathing, brushing, coat trims, nail trims and ear cleaning - with an emphasis on gentle handling and positive reinforcement to minimize the stress often associated with commercial grooming.

“Grooming can be an overwhelming experience for a companion animal. Even a confident, well-socialized dog can be uncomfortable being handled by a strange person, in a strange place,” said Roxana Vlasceanu, owner and trainer of High Drive Pups. “That is why we are so excited to welcome Megan to our team. She is a talented stylist, and she also has extensive experience handling and grooming behaviorally challenged dogs. Her services will complement what we offer our training and boarding clients.”

The Salon grooming hours are by appointment, Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, with early drop off and/or late pick up available by request.

As High Drive Pups works with and rehabilitates rescue dogs, the Salon will also offer reduced rates for 501(c)3 Rescue Organizations who are getting their pooches ready for adoption.

High Drive Pups is a dog training and boarding business located on the West Side of Cleveland, close to Lakewood and Edgewater Park. It is locally owned and operated by Head Trainer Roxana Vlasceanu.

HDP offers customized behavior modification and obedience training programs, including Private Sessions (in-home or at the training center), Group Classes, Training Daycare and In-Kennel Training packages, as well as boarding services for clients during emergencies or out-of-town trips.

HDP also works with local rescue organizations - boarding, evaluating, rehabilitating and training dogs available for adoption. The support extends to helping Rescue volunteers train and manage foster dogs in their own homes.

Roxana has been working with and rehabilitating shelter dogs since 2010. She is an active volunteer for several animal welfare organizations including No Kill Ohio, a non-profit organization dedicated to networking urgent animals from city shelters. Since 2011 she has also become involved in Protection Sports, and is currently cross-training her Dutch Shepherd Zulu in Schutzhund/IPO, French Ring, Mondioring and Personal Protection. Some of her other training interests include competitive obedience, agility, tracking and detection work.

Salon Creative is a local, newly opened dog grooming salon, owned and operated by Lead Groomer and Pet Stylist Megan Barrett. Salon Creative offers full-service, all-breed, cat and dog grooming with an emphasis on creative styling done completely by hand with scissors for a smooth, hand-finished look.

Megan has more than twelve years of experience in the animal care industry including pet sitting, doggie daycare management, and more than seven years of hands-on grooming experience. She is well-known for her ability to work with rescue dogs, dogs with behavioral issues, and dogs with health issues who might be turned away from other salons.

In her spare time, Megan enjoys volunteering for animal rescue organizations and frequents AKC dog shows and grooming seminars as a way of learning new trends and techniques in the grooming industry.
