Jersey Express Host 1st Annual FREE Youth Clinic - In conjunction with UCC

NEWARK, N.J. - July 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Newark, N.J. (Thursday, July 04, 2013) – The Jersey Express, in conjunction with UCC hosted its 1^st Annual Youth Clinic on June 29th, as part of its newly formed partnership at West Side Park Gym in Newark.  The clinic was held from 10a.m. to 1 p.m. for boys and girls ages 5-12 years old.

‘Jersey Express’, more than just a basketball team, but an outreach program, teaching life lessons, providing opportunities, and giving back to the community; stated Director of Operations, Jeff Brown.  Jersey Express players; Jason Smith, Edgardo Torres, Earl Chang, Devon Young, SuQuan Gary, Charles Smith & Sonam Lama, ran the clinic, and put the kids who participated thru drill stations, teaching fundamentals, playing games, and life lesson lectures.  The players really connected with the kids, and the team chemistry rubbed off on them.  ‘The kids who came out had one thing in mind…basketball!  The kids, parents, and players were very enthusiastic.  

 ‘I had so much fun, when I grow up, I want to win trophies’ stated Xavious Smith (age 5) from Newark.  

Everyone was part of a big family.  ‘I really love how all the players helped out all of the kids that were struggling; stated Newark resident, Takisha Donalds.

The kids had a memorable time.  Autographs, pictures, and T-shirts were distributed at the end of the clinic.
