OKEMAH, Okla. - July 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Berteal is quickly making their mark in the acoustic folk Americana genre. They are gaining nods on their songs that tap into the side of life which isn't always pretty. Musically their message addresses animal welfare, fighting cruelty of all kinds, orphan issues and philanthropy.  In just under a year, they are receiving accolades such as Best Group/Duo for the 2012 International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA), honored finalists in the 2012 USA Songwriting Competition which also garnered them a showcase in Austin TX during the 2013 SXSW, and another showcase in 2013 at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville TN. Kimberly Gentry, one half of Berteal received another nod with 2nd Place in the Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest for her song "How I Wanna Be," and a performance slot at this year's Woody Guthrie Folk Festival.

A new project is being scheduled for the studio in early fall 2013 with a prominent Nashville producer, and a "gofundme" campaign is kicking off in a couple of weeks.   Visit the website for more information on Berteal. www.Berteal.com
