“Bravo! Vail’s Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott and I are thrilled to announce this new partnership with Colorado Public Radio,” said Jim Palermo, executive director, Bravo! Vail. “This is the first-ever series of its kind for Bravo! Vail, and we are delighted to spread the news about the artistic riches of our magnificent festival across the state. Not only will Coloradans hear world-renowned performances by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic on the airwaves, they’ll also hear the sounds of some of the most cherished chamber music performers and masterpieces all summer long.”

Highlights of the broadcasts from Bravo! Vail include the live broadcast performance of The Philadelphia Orchestra and Verdi’s Requiem on Saturday, July 13, conducted by their music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Joining The Philadelphia Orchestra on-stage for this one-time-only performance is the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus, led by director Duain Wolf. Music lovers across Colorado will want to tune in on Sunday, July 21 to experience the New York Philharmonic featuring concertmaster Glenn Dicterow as violin soloist for Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. Dicterow will play his last season as concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic in 2013-14, ending what will be a 34-year tenure.

Chamber music will also take center stage with three CPR broadcasts from Bravo! Vail’s chamber music series showcasing Anne-Marie McDermott together with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, Calder Quartet, the all-male choral ensemble Cantus, and the Jasper String Quartet. CPR’s Charley Samson will host the broadcasts, which promise to fill the airwaves with the excitement of live performances.

“This exciting new series furthers Bravo! Vail's mission of enriching people's lives through the power of music,” continued Palermo. “We produce the finest performances by the greatest artists, fostering music education and promoting a life-long appreciation of the arts. Now, Bravo! Vail is also connecting to people from across the state who can easily share these transcendent experiences.”
