Follow on Google News | PGCYD Host 2nd Annual Donation DriveAn effort to support the county’s largest women and children shelter
By: IndependentlyPR Baker, who is in full support of the effort, believes community involvement is a substantial priority in protecting county residents. A vision also shared by the people of Prince George’s County who helped meet the goals of last year’s event, “Help for Hygiene.” “Due to the overwhelming support, PGCYD was able to donate hundreds of supplies from last year’s drive,” said Phylicia Henry, Vice President of Programming. This year the group’s mission is to generate at least two hundred items to prepare mothers and children for the upcoming school year. This donation drive is also a collaborative event between the Baltimore City Young Democrats (BCYD) and Montgomery County Young Democrats (MCYD). Each chapter seeks to collect the following considerable needs: bedding, household cleaning supplies, non-perishable goods, backpacks and back-to-school supplies.
