By: ThermoPod Our slim, trim foam free thermal packaging and packaging liners save considerable space on pallets and shelves compared to foam packaging and coolers, giving shippers of smoked meats and fish, pies and cakes, chocolates, wines, and more better control of storage requirements. ThermoPod® mailers and ThermoKeepers ship compressed and store flat until ready for use. The liners are made from a blend of recycled pre-consumer natural textile fibers formed into a soft flat panel laminated between two films, one perforated and the other solid, enabling optimal performance with shipper's choice of coolant. The un-perforated waterproof poly film surface is designed for payloads kept cool with dry ice. The perforated surface, designed to accommodate gel packs, has tiny scores to allow any unwanted condensation or moisture from the gel packs to wick away from the payload. The insulation also includes an EPA-approved anti-microbial additive for cross-contamination prevention and super absorbent fibers for containment of accidental spills or undesirable condensation from thawing gel packs. The mailers and packaging liners are disposable with ordinary trash. The insulation padding used in the inner lining is produced using a selected blend of refined recycled cotton fibers. ThermoPod's nonwoven cotton insulation materials are completely aerobic and anaerobically biodegradable in less than one year when in the presence of active microorganisms as verified by ASTM D-6400 bio-disintegration testing. Non woven cotton insulation fibers are considered compostable and comply with current FTC 2013 Green guidelines. The packaging liner's encapsulating outer poly film contains a patented additive that promotes and accelerates biodegradation of the poly film and help break down the poly in a time frame greater than one year depending upon conditions and when in the presence of active microorganisms. Poly is considered non-compostable.
