ThoroughTec to demonstrate new generation of advanced Military Engineered Mining Simulators at AIMEX

ThoroughTec Simulation will demonstrate its engineering prowess in advanced heavy equipment mining simulation by going beyond the typical industry showing of basic load and haul simulators on Stand 0623 at AIMEX

DURBAN, South Africa - July 3, 2013 - PRLog -- ThoroughTec Simulation will demonstrate its engineering prowess in advanced heavy equipment mining simulation by going beyond the typical industry showing of basic load and haul simulators on Stand 0623 at AIMEX – Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition, to be held at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, from August 20-23, 2013.

ThoroughTec has differentiated itself as the only company whose design engineering comes from 20+ years of building complex military armoured vehicles, being compliant with Military Standards (MIL-STD) and having an ISO 9001 certified quality management system. The biggest benefit to customers has been ThoroughTec’s ability to build the highest fidelity and most authentic simulators to unrivalled levels of quality, and at the lowest total cost of ownership by far. Of greatest value to the industry, however, is ThoroughTec’s willingness and capability to tackle the more complex mining machines like drills, bolters, locomotives, scalers, graders and continuous miners, and provide own mine site customization.

ThoroughTec’s global launch, just two years ago at AIMEX 2011, has since attracted 7 of the top 10 global mining companies, many of which were customers of its major competitors. ThoroughTec has also grown from its traditional base in South Africa, with an established presence and offices now in South America, North America, Perth and Brisbane in Australia. Most recently ThoroughTec expanded its interest in Indonesia, South Asia and Central Asia. ThoroughTec has the largest range of mining simulators (covering all OEMs and machine class) and with its new factory, completed late last year, also has the largest development pipeline by far. As such ThoroughTec is able to support mine sites not only with their present fleet, but also to grow with them in the future.

At the AIMEX event this year, visitors will be able to test drive some of ThoroughTec’s best-selling and new generation advanced machines. The simulator cabs on show at AIMEX will demonstrate CYBERMINE4’s ability to simulate complex surface and underground mining equipment accurately and to extremely high levels of fidelity.

“Our range, built on the back of over 20 years of experience in engineering high-fidelity simulation systems for both mining and military applications, is not limited to simple load-and-haul simulation offerings, but includes the more complex ancillary equipment. They are designed and engineered to make mines safer, more productive and more cost effective.” Greg Lew, ThoroughTec’s EVP of Global Business Development, said.

“ThoroughTec’s mining simulators encompass all aspects of both surface and underground mining operations for hard and soft rock and are capable of replicating a mine’s entire working fleet from load and haul through to the most complex production and ancillary equipment.” Lew elaborated.

ThoroughTec simulators are used around the world by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), mine sites and training/recruitment schools for screening employees, recognition of prior learning, induction training, emergency procedure familiarisation, refresher training and up-skilling of experienced operators. The systems are backed by military grade quality, reliability and low cost of ownership.
