VAIL, Colo. - July 2, 2013 - PRLog -- In its 26th season, Bravo! Vail is increasing the number and scale of its free concert offerings to broaden the organization’s mission to bring music into the lives of more children and adults across the Vail Valley. This summer, Bravo! Vail will present 16 free concerts featuring acclaimed artists such as pianist Joyce Yang, cellist Hai-ye Ni, the Cantus male vocal ensemble, the Jasper String Quartet, and members of Bravo! Vail’s three resident orchestras: the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. For more information about Bravo! J.S. Bach: Solo Cello Suites with Hai-ye Ni
An exceptional musician renowned for her fluid technique, gorgeous tone, and brilliant, expressive performances, cellist Hai-Ye Ni enjoys a distinguished, multi-faceted career as principal cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and as a sought-after soloist and chamber musician.

When Twilight Falls

20th Century Masters
Fascinated with folk music, Bartók concentrated on collecting and arranging music from Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria. The second movement of the extraordinary String Quartet No. 5 is played entirely with mutes on strings; the entire fourth movement is rendered pizzicato or “plucked.” Also featured on this program: Barber’s Adagio from the String Quartet, Op. 11.

Kernis’s Influences
