SAN JOSE, Calif. - July 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Internationally published author Sharon E. Cathcart has released a new novella.  "His Beloved Infidel" is her first foray into inter-ethnic romance.

The tale features two new and original characters.  Farukh and Catherine are colleagues at Paris' World Language Institute. He is Persian; she is American. Can their newly-discovered love survive the strain of Iran's Islamic Revolution?

Set against the backdrop of real-world events, Farukh and Catherine are ordinary people caught up in extraordinary situations.

Cathcart was inspired to write the tale after reading "Daughter of Persia," a memoir by Sattareh Farman Farmaian.

"Farmaian talked frankly about the challenges she faced as a Persian woman living under three different Iranian regimes, and how she narrowly escaped execution under Ayatollah Khomeini," Cathcart explained. "Her perspective made me think about what it might be like for a couple dealing not only with cultural differences, but also cultural upheaval."

The eBook edition is currently available for purchase exclusively at Smashwords, via this link: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/332299

"His Beloved Infidel" will soon be available via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other fine retailers.
