July 4, 2013 - PRLog -- At the recently held PPA Awards 2013 in London, Magzter played an integral role as the evening’s prestigious ‘Editor of the Year’ category was sponsored by Magzter. The Professional Publishers Associations Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on the 19th of June was a very well attended event indeed. Present at the award ceremony, were several important publishers including IPC, Dennis Publishing, Haymarket, Future, Hearst and Conde Nast among others.

The award sponsored by Magzter, was one of the most significant ones of the night, as Editor of the Year and Magazine of the Year are among the most eagerly awaited presentations. Future’s Jane Toft won the Editor of the Year (Consumer Media) and Angus Urquhart, Head of Sales; Magzter (UK) presented the award.

Future, the international specialist media group and leading digital publisher, picked up two awards at the Professional Publishers Association Awards, only two weeks after being named Consumer Digital Publisher of the Year for an unprecedented third year running by the Association of Online Publishers.

Angus Urquhart expressed his delight on having Magzter sponsor the ‘Editor of the Year’ category. In the running for Editor of the Year with Jane Toft from Future Publishing – Editor of Mollie Makes, were several strong candidates from publishing companies such as Hearst, Conde Nast and Imagine. Close contenders included Lisa Smosarski at Stylist, Michelle Ogundehin at ELLE Decoration and Lindsay Nicholson at Good Housekeeping. Toft was recognised for her commendable work on the UK’s number one contemporary craft brand.

The magazine Mollie Makes, takes a unique approach to curating the best online craft content into a beautiful and collectible magazine. Their innovative digital strategy, weekly interactive sister-brand Gathered by Mollie Makes and its significant international presence, has redefined the craft sector.

Magzter is pleased to continue an on-going relationship with the PPA to support their efforts; to promote and develop the UK magazine publishing industry and provide the leading global digital newsstand to help publishers drive more digital sales.” – said Angus Urquhart, Head- Sales, Magzter (UK).
