America's Cheapest Cities For Luxury Hotels

New study finds Orlando, Palm Springs, Scottsdale and Las Vegas among this years cheapest travel destinations for luxury hotels.

LAS VEGAS - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- HotelDealsRevealed is pleased to announce America's 10 cheapest cities for luxury hotels.

Data from over 9,000 hotel reservations made on Hotwire and Priceline was used to determine the cheapest cities in the Unitied States for luxury hotels.  The researchers collected data from actual Hotwire and Priceline customers, including the hotel name, location, star ranking, and price paid.

"Any hotel that was ranked as 4.5 or 5 stars by Hotwire or Priceline was included in the study" said Randy Greencorn, founder of HotelDealsRevealed.com, a website that crowd-sources opaque hotel bidding information. "We've seen some amazing deals come up at 5-star hotels.  It is not uncommon to see the Venetian or Palazzo in Vegas for under $90 per night."

"The best deals tend to be in destinations that cater to the wealthy.  During their low season, hotels with excess inventory dump their rooms on sites like Priceline and Hotwire. $90 per night is better than a room sitting vacant."

The top 10 cheapest cities and average price per night for luxury hotels in the United States are:
1.  Orlando - $101 per night.
2.  Phoenix - $104 per night
3.  Memphis - $118 per night
4.  Palm Springs - $129 per night
5.  Las Vegas - $131
6.  Key West - $139 per night
7.  Philadelphia - $141 per night
8.  Chicago - $143 per night
9.  Fort Myers / Naples - $145 per night
10. Santa Fe - $147 per night

This study offers a rare glimpse into the secrets of opaque hotel reservations. Priceline's Name Your Own Price feature does not publish prices before a reservation is made.  By crowd sourcing the data from actual customers, we were able to figure out what real customers were paying and, in turn, learn the cheapest cities for 4.5 and 5 star hotels.

On the other end of the spectrum, Miami, New York and Seattle tend to be the most expensive, averaging well over $200 per night.  Its rare to see the deep discounts that you get in some of the major high-end destinations.
