Firestorm Crew Holds Moment Of Silence In 130 degree Heat for the 19 Men Who Died

REDDING, Calif. - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Firestorm a Wildland Fire Suppression company, based out of Chico CA, bowed their heads in silence, in 130 degree heat, for the 19 men who gave their lives trying to protect the lives and homes of others.

Firestorm set out for a counterattack on these fires that took the lives of these heroic loved ones.  

We all know the risk of fighting fires and the possibilities of life threatening consequences that comes with the job, says Firestorm.  Nothing prepares you though for a sudden lost of comrades lives, it is a very emotional moment and a confirmation of the severe dangers that goes with this line of work says firestorm. .
All of our crews are are trained and qualified with the latest mandatory training and updates. We are a qualified training facility by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG).

Our crews start out with the basic course which is known as S-130 governed by the NWCG National Wildfire Coordinating Group.  From this basic training the crews advance forward with other mandatory courses and updates as released from the NWCG.  Firestorm is extremely adherent to safety and following federal agencies industry guidelines, safety first that is for sure.

Firestorm employee Lee Knapp was dispatched along with others to fight fires in Arizonan.  We are all sad and emotional at the moment, and it is true, this morning we all had a moment of silence for our comrades that gave their lives in fighting the Yarnell AZ fire. Though Firestorm has trained us in safety and how to fight fires, when you get news of the lives that were lost it does effect you, no matter who you are.  Family and friends will mourn and we will do the same right along with them.  

Lee went on to say, Firestorm has great leadership and knowledge about wildland fires and cares about their employees and their safety. We watch each others back and follow orders to the code.  

One more thing before I go, Wanted to speak on the behalf of myself and the rest of the crew, to all the family and friends of the nineteen men that lost their lives, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you and we weep right along with you.
