U.S. Chamber and RecruitMilitary to Produce Veteran Job Fair in Minneapolis on August 1

MINNEAPOLIS - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Cincinnati, OH – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the military-to-civilian recruitment firm RecruitMilitary will produce a job fair for veterans and other men and women with military backgrounds at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, on Thursday, August 1, 2013. APi Group Inc. and 3M will sponsor the event, which will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. RecruitMilitary is inviting veterans who already have civilian work experience, personnel who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members.

This event, a Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo, will be part of a nationwide initiative to increase the hiring of veterans and military spouses by producing special career fair hiring events. The U.S. Chamber launched the Hiring Our Heroes initiative in March 2011.

RecruitMilitary and the Chamber expect more than 40 employers, franchisors, educational institutions, and government agencies to reserve exhibitor booths at the Expo. Already signed up are Lockheed Martin, UTC Aerospace, Mayo Clinic, The Home Depot, BNSF Railway, DeVry University, Prudential Financial, McDonald’s Corporation, Api Group Inc., Canadian National Railway Company, Tokyo Electron, Next Level Financial, American Income Life Insurance Company, Ecolab Inc., Heavy Construction Academy, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Trident University International, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, Renewal by Anderson, Comcast, Wells Fargo, The Art Institutes, Ameriprise Financial, and Oklahoma College of Construction.
