Umniah has held a cooking competition and awarded employees for their commendable job performances

July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Realizing that Umniah’s employees are the drive behind the telecoms company’s operations since day one, Umniah has shown its recognition and appreciation towards staff members by organizing a contest dubbed ‘Master chef’ this year.

The ceremony, held at the Holiday Inn, Amman, honored a number of employees from various departments in the company who made outstanding achievements. The warm gathering was attended by Umniah’s CEO, Ihab Hinnawi, as well as top managers.

After an opening speech was made by Mr. Hinnawi, an award ceremony commenced where several employees received exemplary recognition including Hasan Arar (Distribution Dept.) and Majed Bakour (Quality Business Continuity and Information Security) receiving the Gold Award; Mohammed Saleh (Human Resources and Corporate Affairs) and Nicole Shahin (Marketing Department) receiving the Silver Award; and Motaz Al-Bakri (Finance) and Murad Abu El Haj (Engineering and Information Technology) obtaining the Bronze Award.

Preceding the awards ceremony, the contest kicked off involving 10 Umniah employees, competing in cooking exquisite cuisines which a panel of judges—headed by Holiday Inn’s Managing Chef—rated according to taste and overall appearance. Mohammed Saleh received first place, followed by Zeina Merie (Marketing Department) and Raed Yassin (Distribution & CC Department) ranking second, and Heba Loua’si (Legal Affairs) at third place.

On another note, Alaa Aqrabawi, employed in Umniah’s Distribution & CC Department, received a Gold Medal for her top performance in the International Open Table Tennis Championship of the National Club for People with Disability.

Umniah’s CEO Ihab Hinnawi said, “This friendly event reflects our appreciation of our employees and represents our company’s internal atmosphere, based on respect and cooperation. Events like these continue to uphold those values.”
