Mayor Myra Taylor Selects Priscilla Dames to Speak

MIAMI - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Priscilla Dames, Chairperson of the Miami-Dade County Black Affairs Advisory Board, spoke to the City of Opa-locka Women’s Initiative last weekend. The dinner was tied into a 2-day event bringing businesswomen together to network with one another. This was the city of Opa-locka’s first women’s summit held to celebrate women.

Opa-locka Mayor “Lady” Myra Taylor, the founder of the initiative, invited Mrs. Dames to be the guest speaker because of her outstanding efforts for the equality and empowerment of women in Miami-Dade County. The speaker reminded the Opa Locka residents how through collaboration the women can make their city one to be awed and wowed. After speaking at the dinner, Ms. Dames did the honor of officially joining the Initiative.

Ms. Dames earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ball State University and a Master of Science Degree from Nova Southeastern University. Her lifelong commitment to human diversity and equality has been recognized by Miami-Dade County. She was presented the Women of Impact award by the Women’s History Coalition of Miami-Dade County in 2012 and the In The Company of Women Award March, 2013. Ms. Dames is also the founder and CEO of Wingspan Seminars, LLC.
