Accure and SJCIT Sign MoU to Setup One of the Largest Hadoop Clusters in India

BANGALORE, India - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Chickballapur, Karnataka -- Accure Pvt Ltd and Sri Jagadaguru Chanrashekaranatha Swamiji Institute of Technology (SJCIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 26, 2013 to set up in the institute one of the largest Hadoop clusters in any academic set up in the world. This will enable the college to produce skilled engineers and scientists for cloud and big data technologies.

Sri Sri Sri Nirmalanandanatha Maha Swamiji, President, Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust(R.) and Shamshad Ansari, President, Accure Pvt Ltd signed and exchanged the MoU. Dr T Munikenche Gowda, Principal of SJCIT, Professor Chandrashekhar, HoD of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Satish Chandra Reddy, HoD of Information Science and Engineering , and other professors and staff members were also present in the MoU signing ceremony.

The objectives under this MoU are:

Setup Hadoop cluster lab in SJCIT by utilizing existing computer and network system.

Provide Hadoop training to students who will learn to setup and maintain the cluster.

Provide Hadoop training to students who will learn big data computing and programming using Hadoop.

Provide internship opportunity to students to work closely with a Accure and solve real-world problems using big data and Hadoop technologies.

Provide Hadoop training to faculty members (train-the-trainer) who will then mentor students for their Hadoop related academic projects

This program will benefit SJCIT in the following way:

Accure will train faculty and students and help them build Hadoop cluster lab in the college.

Both faculty and students get real time exposure while building the Hadoop cluster utilizing the existing computer and networking systems.

Students are trained to do cluster management and maintenance. This gives them industry level expertise to manage real cluster.

Accure help design Hadoop course and course contents that meet current industry demands.

Students are given real-world problems to solve using Hadoop.

Accure’s interdisciplinary training programs aim to providing training to other engineering departments so they leverage the power of Hadoop in their research work.

Accure and SJCIT will co-publish Hadoop experience, benchmarking result, academic and industry related research in Journals and magazines. This improves visibility in the Intellectual community.

Hadoop cluster can be rented to industries for their data processing and analytics needs. This will attract industry interest in recruiting students and at the same time bring revenue to the college.
