Howard Helfant's Mobile Concepts For The Restaurant Business

BOCA RATON, Fla. - June 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Howard Helfant, Boca Raton’s restaurant entrepreneur offers some suggestions as to how even a local restaurant can maximize opportunity in a mobile world.  Howard Helfant comments, “I offer free Wi-Fi at my Boca Raton restaurant because each day I see people I would never have expected to owning and using a smart phone or tablet. I see them using these devices at my 101 Cantina tequila bar and restaurant. ” Howard Helfant wants his customers to enjoy his latest Mexican cuisine restaurant and spend time there and his Winstar Consulting Group will offer advise on how to "capture the interest" of your customers in a mobile world.

Howard Helfant’s Five Mobile Marketing Suggestions:

Deliver your special offers and announcements at what you think is a time when your potential customers are deciding whether to go out to eat. .
Create a private label loyalty programs. Bringing back repeat customers with return customer rewards is powerful. Social media and the internet in general is a great way to disseminate information at a very low cost.

Take a photo of a specialty dish you are preparing to serve that day. Maximize use of social media to promote events, take pictures and videos at those events. Bring the world into your home ( your restaurant).

Reservation reminders. Send your customers a text message reminder before their scheduled reservation time and ask them to call if they need to cancel.
Mobile phones can replace vibrating devices to notify customers when their table is ready. Those devices given out by those national chains can cost thousands.

Howard Helfant continues, "Let’s face it, whether it is stand alone media of television, radio or billboards and then onto banner ads and mobile ads on every device we own, everyone is competing for their share of customers."

If your website is more than a few years old in all likelihood it was not created with a mobile version.  That is a no-no according to Helfant who comments, “who is on a computer today?  It is either a smartphone or a tablet and your website had better be optimized for those devices. “

Many restaurant websites have not been optimized for mobile search behavior. Howard Helfant comments, 'every one in the business started a website when the concept came out, some good, some not so good. Very few have updated the sites from the 1st day and most have not become mobile compatible. That means, these websites  are hard to read on small phone screens and have little or no interactive capabilities. Many customers will search for a restaurant and want to call a restaurant, just like they select the movie to go see and the theater to see that movie at,  and buy those movie tickets,  so it’s important to make sure that your website makes it easy to contact you..
