Follow on Google News | Author’s talent breaks the language barrierTalented author and poet E. N. De Choudens proves language is no barrier to a dedicated writer.
Efrain Nadal, writing under the name of E. N. De Choudens, is a native of Puerto Rico, and Spanish is his primary language. De Choudens arrived to the United States and set about to master the language of his new home. Efrain not only mastered English but also harnessed the power of the written word to begin writing poetry. His early works received quick notice, with several of his poems A Cold Beer, My Halloween Night, and He is waiting for me having been published in journals and periodicals. A Quick Look to an Insane Mind is his first full length book of verse. De Choudens, now living in Maryland, evokes the spirit of fellow Maryland poet and author Edgar Alan Poe. This alone would be an accomplishment for anyone, but to have to conquer the nuances and the discipline of a new language at the same time makes Efrain’s triumph even more significant. De Choudens says, “When I began to write, my English was terrible . . . I needed a little help to correct my grammatical errors and to correct the loss of meaning during translation.” When not writing, E. N. De Choudens enjoys fishing, scuba diving, and other outdoor activities. He studied marine biology in Puerto Rico and then creative writing here in America. A husband and a father of two, De Choudens proves that no obstacle will block the path of a talented and dedicated individual. E. N. De Choudens has conquered the English language and is now setting his sights on conquering the world of dark poetry. Look for his book A Quick Look to an Insane Mind.
